    How does a threaded button bit work?

    When the hammer piston strikes shank adapters, the generated shockwave will transmit through coupling sleeves, drill rods and finally reach the drill bit. The drill bit delivers the axial impact energy and performs continuous rotation at the same time. The combined effects of impact, crushing and shearing will break the rocks. The flushing medium flowing through drill rod center passes through drill bits and reaches the bottom hole. The medium will then carry rock cuttings out of the drilling hole to prepare the hole bottom for the next percussion cycle.

    Main components of a threaded button bit

    A threaded button bit mainly consists of alloy steel bit body, connectors, face buttons, gauge buttons, flushing holes, flushing grooves, bit face and bit skirt.

    How to choose a drill bit face

    Different bit faces bring changes to carbide button layout, bottom-hole contact pattern, and flushing channels. Common bit face types include flat face, drop center, convex face and concave face.
