When it comes to mining black stone in Malaysia, professional miners face a myriad of challenges, including tooth loss, drill body wear, thread erosion, short lifespan, and unproductive blastholes. Seeking to save time and ensure project deadlines, they turned to us, providing detailed drilling environment information and photographs of previously used drill bits.
Analyzing the situation, we presented two drill bit options for testing: one utilizing cold pressing and the other employing hot pressing to embed the teeth. The client reported that the hot-pressed drill bit demonstrated stable performance and faster drilling speeds, but with a higher price tag. Meanwhile, the cold-pressed option showed occasional tooth breakage, yet offered a more cost-effective solution.
Curious if we could deliver an even more affordable product without compromising performance, the client inquired about alternative options. In response, our research and development team proposed a solution that involved using the TD10 alloy, known for its enhanced toughness and wear resistance, instead of the harder YK05 alloy. Tests were conducted, and the client was pleased to find that although drilling efficiency experienced a minor 3% reduction, the lifespan increased by over 5%, fully meeting their requirements.
The client commended Starockdrill for considering their needs, optimizing prices while ensuring quality, and providing the perfect solution to enhance their work efficiency. Relying on our expertise, they now regularly procure 200 T45 thread drill bits of various models each month, dedicated to efficient blasthole drilling in the local stone mining industry.
We are grateful for their trust and reaffirm our commitment to delivering high-quality products and superior service as always.
